about

Dry White Season showcases a more mature FMB, sporting a louder, heavier and darker sound that will be familiar to fans who saw them on the road live and was hinted at by the song Kiss Me from Showtime. It's somewhat of a departure from the lighter indie-pop of their first album with songs reflecting the emotional blows they'd experienced in 1992-94 and the rapid growing up that happened immediately after they first appeared on TV. Most of the songs were a part of FMB's regular set but some were written at the end of, or just after the demise of FMB and were incorporated into the reunited band's set becoming live favourites.

This album was recorded during the same sessions as Showtime during a brief gap in 2020's lockdown. The recording of 17 songs was done almost entirely over two days - which is about as fast as it can be done. The song's were recorded almost entirely live in a rehearsal space in Hertfordshire, with a few overdubs added later at Jeff's studio.
